In the meeting, Chairman Gary Gong reviewed the successful past collaborations between i2i and MassChallenge. In 2019, i2i operated the Taiwan Startup Terrace and co-launched the Bridge to MassChallenge Taiwan 2019 program, which successfully attracted global startups to Taiwan and helped Taiwanese startups expand internationally.

Deputy Director General Chia-Ying Wu highlighted that this initiative led to the SMESA becoming a platinum sponsor of MassChallenge.

Founded in 2009, MassChallenge's name reflects both its founding location in "Massachusetts" and the "mass challenges" it addresses. Headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, it is the world’s only non-profit, equity-free global accelerator. Its mission is to connect startups, experts, businesses, and communities to drive business growth and economic transformation. With 98 corporate partners, MassChallenge focuses on supporting high-potential startups in the crucial early stages of product-market fit and commercialization. As of last year, MassChallenge has assisted 483 startups in their growth.

To further deepen cooperation with MassChallenge, i2i plans to invite MassChallenge CEO Cait Brumme and her team to the 2025 Computex Taipei. Through continued visits and exchanges, they aim to explore further collaboration opportunities and contribute to fostering Taiwan-U.S. startup ecosystem.
