The 2024 Meet Greater South officially kicked off on August 23. The fourth annual "Meet Greater South" was held from August 23 to 24 at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center. Jointly organized by Business Next and Meet Startup in collaboration with the Kaohsiung City Government, this event is the largest startup gathering in southern Taiwan, drawing significant attention from various sectors.

Government, Academia, and Industry Unite to Strengthen Taiwan’s Innovation Ecosystem
This year’s expo brought together over 300 startups from diverse sectors, including digital content and experience technology, AIoT, 5G and cloud solutions, green sustainability, marketing technology and new retail, medical and health technology, Web3 and blockchain.
Teams from 11 countries, including Japan, Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia, also participated, symbolizing a key milestone in the growth of Taiwan's startup ecosystem.
The event showcased the collaborative efforts of government, academia, industry, and startups in driving industrial transformation and innovation.
In his opening remarks, Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-mai emphasized that Kaohsiung has successfully attracted global industry leaders like TSMC, IBM, Foxconn, and AMD to invest in the city. He reaffirmed the city’s commitment to advancing digital transformation and industrial upgrades in southern Taiwan.
Political Vice Minister of Economic Affairs Ho Chin-tsang also highlighted that startups are a critical force in driving industrial innovation and smart growth.
