Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association’s Tokyo Headquarters Visits i2i to Boost International Startup Acceleration

To strengthen collaboration between Japan and Taiwan, foster cooperation within the startup ecosystem, a delegation from the Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association led by Deputy Director Shibata of the Tokyo headquarters—along with Section Chief Eda from the Taipei office—visited the Nangang Software Incubation Center on December 5.

They explored potential partnerships for i2i’s upcoming “IP2 Launchpad Program” in 2025 and looked into opportunities and market trends for Japanese startups in Taiwan.

The Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association, an official diplomatic institution representing Japan in Taiwan, is headquartered in Tokyo with offices in Taipei and Kaohsiung. It serves as a key link between Japan and Taiwan, providing long-term support for Japanese businesses expanding into Taiwan while also promoting Taiwanese startups interested in taking part in innovation projects in Japan.

Deputy Director Shibata explained that the Association has been closely following Taiwan’s developments in technology, semiconductors, medical biotechnology, and green energy—fields that attract more and more Japanese startups aiming to enter the Taiwan market.

Building on these strengths, the Association hopes to work with i2i to establish processes, consultation services, and support measures that will help Japanese startups successfully launch and adapt to the Taiwan market.

i2i shared past success stories in helping startups launch, incubate, and connect with business opportunities, ensuring international startups can enter the Taiwan market quickly and systematically. In addition, i2i invited the Association to attend the International Demo Day on January 16, 2025, for a closer look at i2i’s approach to guiding international startups.
