On December 13, Sound Land (科音國際) General Manager Shaw Uei Jong led his team to the Nangang Software Incubation Center to meet with i2i.
During their visit, i2i outlined its work assisting both local and international startups with market entry, incubation, and business matchmaking. The group also explored Sound Land’s solutions for cross-industry upgrades, looking forward to ongoing cooperation and discussions on worldwide industry trends and startup growth.
Founded in 1975, Sound Land initially focused on OEM for musical instruments. Through a strong collaboration with Roland in Japan, the company built solid production techniques and quality control systems.
After restructuring its ownership in 2018, Sound Land shifted to independent R&D and brand management, moving from musical instrument manufacturing into broader sound engineering. These efforts expanded into industrial automation and smart healthcare, showcasing Sound Land’s ability to blend software, hardware, and real-world applications.
Sound Land has created three key brands:
Maker hart
Focused on sound engineering, the Maker hart line develops digital instruments and mixers. It first gained traction with an electronic ukulele, then capitalized on the livestreaming trend to supply compact mixers that soon earned worldwide recognition.
XAGV
To boost production efficiency, Sound Land introduced smart production lines and built its own industrial Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs).
The XAGV brand now leads the company’s efforts in industrial automation, representing a successful transition from traditional electronics OEM to AIoT solutions.
ibiomedi
With its background in sound technology, Sound Land partnered with National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University to create a wireless electronic stethoscope. Its cordless design proved especially helpful during the COVID-19 pandemic, when ease of use with protective gear and remote consultations became critical.
To expand in the smart healthcare market, Sound Land secured various medical certifications (ISO13485, GMP, TFDA) and continues to launch internationally compliant medical devices under the ibiomedi brand.
